More of Joe DaVinci

Here's that page in one of the Physique Pictorial issues where we learned a little more about Joe DaVinci.  Somehow the words "accomplished artist" and "extreme violence" don't really go together well.

  1. I wonder what violent acts he committed. I would risk a night in the sack with him, though. is peter can't be too small to show so well through that bush of his.

  2. When the model pool shifted from bodybuilders to a broader group that included hustlers and street toughs, Mizer realized what he had on his hands. IIRC, this isn't the only "Jeckyll and Hyde" type that he mentions in those fascinating write-ups and coded squiggles. I'll never forget the one where Mizer wrote something like, "Be sure to keep your small valuables out of sight if you have him over to visit."

    1. Oh yeah, there was a sea change in the type Mizer photographed and the "blurbs" made for great reading. Keith Long was the model Mizer warned us about back in the 80s. Funny thing, I recall Mizer telling us how Keith would brag about how honest and trustworthy he was.

    2. Sociopaths often tend to talk about their "honesty" as if it were fact. I'm doing a series soon on the bad boys of modeling, and hopefully it will be interesting. The research certainly has been.

    3. Bad boys of modeling. Hmmmm...that sounds very interesting. I'll be sure to contribute if I have something to add.

    4. I'd be happy to receive any suggestions, so please hit me on the contact button on my blog if you like. (I had a computer crash last year and lost a whole file folder of those Physique Pictorial pages with the interesting biographical overlays.)
Meanwhile, one guy turned out to be so bad, he's getting his own series before the main one.

    6. Shouldn't be too hard to guess. I couldn't include him with guys who didn't even come close to that level.
