Ty Arthur (shirt) and Bill Lake in the Nova film Beached released in 1979. IMO this was Nova at it's best! The production values were top shelf -- especially when you consider this was filmed 45 years ago. Great color, both indoors and outdoors. No live sound, but decent voiceovers to move the story.
The first sex scene between Ty and Bill takes place in the Pacific Ocean! Actually it was filmed in a backyard pool, but there's seaweed and some curious fish in the scenery. Nice touch! The guys eventually move their tryst to a towel on the beach -- sand be damned! (It looks like Black's Beach.) Then Bill takes Ty to his beach cabin and they wind up on the shag carpeted floor. Two very versatile performers who clearly enjoyed working together. Or, they were damned good actors. 5 Stars!
P.S. Bill Lake showed up at Old Reliable in 1984 -- a little older, but none the worse. He was called Mike Doll. The same year Nova released Beached, Ty posed for AMG as Scott Lafayette. My search for any evidence of his work at AMG is now in its fourth decade.
James: The beautifully endowed Bill Lake in the Nova classic "Beached" released in 1979. ! He was known as Mike Dahl at AMG. You have some photos of Mike Dahl posted on MFBT. Mike Dahl and Jay Howard where in the 1972 AMG short film "Bedside Manner".
ReplyDeleteHe was known as Mike Doll when he worked for Old Reliable.!!! I am sending you photos that I have.
I know GEVI lists them as one and the same, but I disagree. They are not the same guy.
ReplyDeleteSo you believe there are 3 different Men.?All the books and articles claiming they are the same Man are incorrect.? I had read that David Hurles of Old Reliable was a lazt speller and just decided to call Mike Dahl (his real name) Mike Doll. But you think Bill Lake and Mike Doll are the same Man and that Mike Dahl is a different Man.?
ReplyDeleteYou're last statement is correct. Lake and Doll are the same guy. David Hurles even said as much on tape in Mike's session. Mike Dahl was early seventies and probably around 20 years old. Seven years later Bill Lake was around the same age. Finally, Dahl was uncut, while Lake/Doll was cut.
DeleteThat makes the most sense. I had read from other vintage physique sources that when Mike Dahl posed for David Hurles he forgot how to spell his last name so he invented Mike Doll as a stage name. But I always wondered why they looked so different.? Clearly these sources saying Mike Dahl was the same Man as Mike Doll are not correct. Bill Lake was the same Man as Mike Doll only. Thanks
