First Time

I doubt I will ever be able to confirm it, but I think this is John Manning's first session at AMG. 

First Time?

I've had these photos of John Manning for years now and have always admired the overall look of them.  I long suspected they were very early AMG photos of John, but never had any confirmation.  

Recently I came across these photos on some auction site.  They are much clearer images than the ones I have from this session.  The site put the date of these photos at 1955, which would make them very early photos of John.  Perhaps this was John's first session at AMG.

Bow & Arrow

Jerry over at VMM recently posted photos of vintage models with bows and arrows.  I was reminded of this classic session of John Manning at Bruce's studio.  Beautifully executed and worthy of a repost. 

What's Not To Like?

Like A Native -- UPDATED

Two years ago I made this post to see if anyone knew the names of the two cowboys posing with John Manning.  I suspected these AMG photos were from a film, but I was unable to find a title.  

Thanks to Cambria we now have answers.  The AMG film was called Friendly Indian and starred John as the Indian with Vic Gipson (black hat) and Flash Myers as the cowboys.  

Tied Up

I recently learned John Manning posed for Mike Scott and this photo was offered as evidence.

I hesitated posting this photo.  But it's John Manning.  From Pat Milo.  It wasn't labeled, but I'm fairly certain it's a Milo. 

BTW...John's thighs look awesome.

Quite a Quintet

A photo promoting the AMG film The Uninvited Guests released in 1962.  From the left: Terry Caldwell, Bob Glennon, John Manning, Mitch Hardin and Bob Wilson. 

Terry gets a new set of weights, strips down and starts working out.  One by one the "guests" arrive and offer Terry their training advice.  Soon they all strip down to pouches and a wrestling brawl breaks out.  And what a melee it was!

Rumble in Space

That's Ron Thompson on the mat, John Manning in the middle and Skeeter Block in the AMG film Space Invader filmed in 1965 and released in 1972.  There was a plot, but I don't recall any of it.  I was too busy enjoying the antics of three attractive young men.  Fun film. 

Guess Who?

It's been at least two days since I've posted a photo of John Manning.  I must be slipping. 

This one is from Dave Martin and it's one of my favorites.
