That's Jim Collette trying to make himself taller than his two friends I don't recognize.  I believe the photo is from Bruce of LA. 

Aspiring Actor

A reader sent me a copy of a newspaper clipping from the Palos Verde, CA News-Pilot dated October 13, 1967.  That's AMG model Jim Collette playing the role of Turk Fisher in the play Come Back Little Sheba at the local theatre.

Jaymes "Jim" Collette

Today I have a three part series on the Collette brothers Jim, Rick and Ron. Until recently, I never knew Ron was related to Jim and Rick. So, like the Manning bros, we have three brothers who graced the studios of some SoCal photographers in the 1960s. 

Jim got his start at AMG in the late 1960s when the models wore posing pouches and was one the first AMG models to take it off.  Here we have two rare color photos of Jim by Bruce of LA who, fortunately, told Jim to lose the pouch.

Under The Lights

I love this photo of Jim Collette by Bruce of LA.  The lighting is dramatic and really accentuates Jim's fine form.  I also like that the lighting fixtures are included in the frame.

A Nice Treat

Here we have rare color photographs of four popular AMG models from the mid to late 1960s.  I wonder if they were offered in a catalogue of some sort or published in book or magazine form.  Or maybe these were from Mizer's personal collection.

P.S. The first thing I noticed about Jim in this photo was the color of his hair.  In black and white photos Jim's hair appears much darker.
