Johnny Stumps

The first two photos of Johnny are from AMG and I believe they are from a solo posing film he did on the rooftop in 1968.  One source claims It was the first full color solo film offered by AMG.  

The other photos are from Jim French of Colt who called him Stumpy. Yeah, seriously.  To the best of my knowledge he didn't do any film work there, only photos. My best guess is circa 1973.  I think you'll agree Johnny matured nicely.

Stumpy?

The site where I found these photos identified the model as Johnny Stumps, but here's the kicker.  The photos are attributed to Jim French of Colt Studio.  Colt called him Stumpy.  

I checked my calendar and verified it is not April Fools Day.  Did Johnny pose for Colt?  If this is correct, at least I finally have learned who owned that chair.  I've seen it before in a few other photos of models I was not able to identify.

A Nice Treat

Here we have rare color photographs of four popular AMG models from the mid to late 1960s.  I wonder if they were offered in a catalogue of some sort or published in book or magazine form.  Or maybe these were from Mizer's personal collection. 

From the top: Dennis Lavia, Jim Collette, John Davidson and Johnny Stumps.  

P.S. The first thing I noticed about Jim in this photo was the color of his hair.  In black and white photos Jim's hair appears much darker.

Christmas in September

One That Got Away

Tony Perry (Yeah, that's him!) Johnny Stumps and Tom Scott holding their name cards for AMG.  It these were promoting a film, I don't think it was ever released.  

There's some confusion on my part regarding which Tom Scott the guy on the right actually is.  More info to follow.  

One more thing.  Johnny looks awesome in these photos. 

Another Wyngate & Bevins Film?

Another set of photos where I'm not sure whom to credit.  They have a somewhat Wyngate & Bevins look -- a studio that specialized in filming and photographing naked guys in outdoor sessions -- and they often used AMG models.  Usually the titles of their films vaguely described the subject.  If this is a W&B film, let's call it With Six You Get Egg Roll.  :) 

In the top photo we see the solidly built Johnny Stumps as King of Hill.  In the other two photos Johnny is replaced by Bob Bryson -- another AMG model.  I don't recognize any of the other models.  

Now let me throw a monkey wrench into the middle of this.  If I had to put money on it, I would say this is from Bruce of LA.  I can't put my finger on why, it's just a feeling. 

Well Packed

Here'e Johnny's Butt!

I have posted several photos of Johnny Stumps, but I just realized this is the first post with a view of Johnny's bodacious butt.  To make up for this egregious error, I give you two photos of his lovely derriere.

Johnny Stumps stood exactly five feet six inches, but he packed one helluva body on that frame. He started out with AMG, but also posed for Bruce of LA and Pat Milo. I believe this shower photo is from Bruce.

Going Native

Terry Shannon (left) and Johnny Stumps on the AMG rooftop.  We were told Terry got into some trouble with the law shortly after this photo session.  Mizer said he did not expect Terry to be available for any further work -- at least for the next few years.  

The Often Crowded AMG Shower

I always enjoyed the AMG shower photos, especially when two (or more) guys would share the tight space.  Usually the guys had just finished wrestling or filming a scene in one of Bob Mizer's films. 

First up we have two big guys I don't recognize.  If you recognize either of these hunks, drop me a line. 

Next we have Ron Wallace (left) and Jerry Sullivan soaping up after filming Young Magician, circa 1965.
