John's Opponents

Two photos from AMG with John Davidson and two of his wrestling opponents.  The top photo has John trapped under Bill Deane in the film Vicious Guard.  I believe Bill played the guard.  The bottom photo has John firmly pressing his groin against Al Edmond's butt (Oh my!) while Al strains to be released from John's forceful hold in the AMG film Improvident Intruder.  Suddenly I'm very jealous of Mr. Davidson. 

In this example Al's last name is given as Emonds.  I've seen it both ways. 

Butch

Years ago I read a blurb on John Davidson that said "John was a Champion model who also posed for AMG."  I remember thinking that was a strange way to put it since I've never seen evidence of his work at Champion.  Well, the top photo here is all the evidence I need; however, due to all of the work he did for Bob Mizer, I still consider John an AMG model.  

Unlike AMG, Arts Unlimited photographed John fully nude.  This photograph was included in the first issue of BUTCH magazine.  Ironically, that's the nickname his friends called him. 

Leave it to Pat Milo to give us John at full mast.

Prisoner & Guard

Bill Deane (left) and John Davidson in a promo photo for the AMG film Vicious Guard.  Bill played the guard, but he wasn't vicious at all.  He was cute, though.  

The film was one of the last AMG posing strap films to be released.  Originally promoted in one of the AMG quarterly brochures in 1965, the film was finally released in June, 1970 -- a good two years plus into the full nude era.  You can attribute that to John Davidson.  He was a very popular model who's untimely death in route to Vietnam ended any possibility of new films upon his return.  

Tempus Fugit

Recently a follower asked me to identify the very first I made to this blog.  He wanted to start from the very beginning and read each post to present day.  I had to dig a bit and was surprised to learn my first post was all the way back on December 15, 2018.  Today I am reposting some of the first images of this blog.  Think of it as a trip down memory lane. 

My very first post featured AMG model Roy Bergen at his first of many sessions at Old Reliable in the fall of 1982.  OR called him Champ.  Years later, David Hurles, the proprietor of OR, said he probably had more photos of Champ than any other model.  At first that surprised me, considering how many OR models made multiple visits to David's home.  Then again, David admitted he fell hard for this guy.

A Nice Treat

Here we have rare color photographs of four popular AMG models from the mid to late 1960s.  I wonder if they were offered in a catalogue of some sort or published in book or magazine form.  Or maybe these were from Mizer's personal collection. 

From the top: Dennis Lavia, Jim Collette, John Davidson and Johnny Stumps.  

P.S. The first thing I noticed about Jim in this photo was the color of his hair.  In black and white photos Jim's hair appears much darker.  

In the Pokey

John Davidson and Bill Deane in a couple of shots from the AMG film Vicious Guard in 1965.  I posted a few photos from this film a while back.  In that post the guys were fully clothed.  

Hands on Hips

Sassy Seaman & the Officer Part II

Tony Martin (black cap) is the officer who caches John Davidson drinking on duty in the AMG film Sassy Seaman & the Officer.  John showed some excellent acting skills in this scene as he stumbled around acting mean and belligerent.  The fact he was not nominated for an Oscar was a major oversight by the Academy.  

Dear John

There's no such thing as a bad photo of John Davidson.  Especially when he's wearing a tight and revealing pair of Skants.  

Slave Fights Back

Blackie and John starred in a similar movie titled Gladiator & the Slave in 1965 and (IMO) they appeared to have developed a chemistry on the wrestling mats.  But in this film, the addition of Buddy did not add to the charm.  If I recall correctly, watching Buddy "fight back" was about as exciting as watching paint dry.
