I Heart the 80s

I recently found this promotion for a new book by Dian Hanson and David Hurles, the proprietor of Old Reliable.   The book showcases photos of the models David photographed in the 1980s with an emphasis on the clothes they wore when they showed up at David's door -- the same outfits they would wear walking the streets of West LA.

It's also a "Whatever happened to?" type of book.  David provides updates on most of the models.  Which I'm sure makes for interesting reading.  Now I just have to remember where I found the link.

-------

Flash was also known as Chris Kapellas at AMG.  I'm sure this outfit, including the handcuffs, turned some heads.

Bad lad Jerry Suter.  While he doesn't hold the record for the worst OR model, he came pretty damn close.  My friend Jerry at Vintage Muscle Men will soon provide an update on this piece of trash.

This could easily become by favorite photo of Montana.  I can just see him walking Santa Monica Blvd, turning heads as he made his way to David's house.

I think Springer was more of 1990s model than an 80s model -- although his first session at OR was in 1989.  And his hair tells me this might be that session.  But, look at this outfit.  If you listen closely, you can probably hear the Backstreet Boys in the background.

More Chris

Chris Kapellas by AMG.

One of the benefits of watching Chris in a wrestling match was a chance to see that beautiful butt in motion.

Chris Goes Hawaiian

Here is a set of photos published by AMG of Chris Kapellas (aka Flash) in an Hawaiian setting.  Another model who bounced between AMG and Old Reliable in the mid-1980s.

I liked Chris a lot.  A high energy guy who loved the camera and who often popped wood as soon as he started posing.  Same with his wrestling scenes at AMG and OR.

In A Flash

Chris Kapellas (left) and an unknown to me model get down on the AMG mats.  Chris also posed for Old Reliable where he went by the name Flash.

I Wonder How The Caps Stayed On Their Heads

Chris Kapellas (top photo, left) and one of his numerous wrestling opponents in a photo shoot for AMG, circa 1985.  Chris stopped by Old Reliable several times in 1985 and 1986.  OR called him Flash and warned us that this guy was a little wild and crazy.

Here's Chris Again

Here's AMG model Chris Kapellas at his first session for Old Reliable.  Here he was known as Flash.

Chris Goes Hawaiian

Chris Kapellas looks hot as heck in this photo by AMG, circa 1985.

Chris was another one who did numerous videos for both AMG and Old Reliable -- especially in the wrestling genre.  He was often paired against a bigger and hairier opponent (Tom Vento and Butch Gaylord come to mind) but he held his own against them.  A high energy and enthusiastic model who always gave it his all.

At Old Reliable he was called Flash. I suspect that was due to his ability to get rock hard in an instant. But we were warned. Chris had a reputation for being a little wild and crazy at times.
