Revisiting the AMG Shower

Today I'm reposting some AMG shower photos that first appeared here three or four years ago.  At the time I had no names for any of the guys.  Today I am able to identify a few.  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to put a name to a face, butt or other body part.  Effusive praise and recognition will follow.  

1. I think these two shower mates are the same guys in the last photo of this post.  Brian says that's Bill Ferguson on the left.  He's correct.  Cambria says the other guy is Joe Walker.  I have other photos of both guys.  

2. Nope.  I'm still drawing a blank on the names.  See comments.  Brian says this is Ross Yankey (left) and Bill Wright. 

3. The guy on the left looks vaguely familiar to me. 

4. The guy on the right looks like he's well over 6' tall.  Cambria says this is Vic Gibson (left) and Flash Myers.  I've posted other photos of them in the past.  See comments. 

5. Help me out. Jim Kessinger (left) and Ed Manning?  

6. Doug Scott and Rick Spencer.  Hey!  I got one! 

7. Same two guys in the first photo.  Bill Ferguson on the right.  Joe Walker on the left.

Cousins?

Ricklane recently commented on a recent Ed Manning post that Ed was sometimes called Ed Jackson and the popular model Everett Lee Jackson (aka Cherokee) was his cousin.  

That's news to me!  After comparing photos of the two guys I could actually believe they were brothers.  Let's compare. 

The first four photos are all Ed Manning at AMG.  

 

The next three photos are Everett Lee Jackson (aka Cherokee) by Pat Milo.  The color photo is by Champion. 

Like I said, I could be convinced.  Anyone have anything to add?

Angry Model

Craig Lancourt (left) and Ed Manning in a still from the AMG film Artist & Model released in 1963.  

This was Ed's first film.  He would do approximately eight films in the 1963/64 period.  During that time he would also pose (fully nude) for Pat Milo.  Then he disappeared for a while.  He popped back up again around 1971 and did a full nude photo session for Mizer.  He looked great.  His body was more defined and his torso was a little hairier.  Click his label to see more. 

More of the Spencer Brothers

Two more photos of brothers Rick and Joe Spencer in the AMG film Sailor and the B Girl.  The movie was filmed at a gay bar in LA.  

That's Joe looking into the camera.  I think the shirtless guy behind the bar was the actual bartender. 

The guy in the striped shirt is AMG model Ed Manning.

Milo 4

Ed Manning by Pat Milo.

Ed did a significant amount of work for AMG in the early 60s. (Hey! I got one!) But it was Milo who had him toss the pouch.  In fairness, after an absence of several years, Ed returned to AMG and did a full nude session. But Pat got there first.

Bar Fight

Brothers Rick and Joe Spencer at a real bar in downtown Los Angeles where the AMG film Sailor and the B-Girl was recorded.  Joe dresses up in woman's clothing looking a lot like Dolly Levi.  Joe (Let's call her Joanne) is there to get the guys to buy drinks -- especially for her.  

Brother Rick enters the bar looking cute in his sailor whites and Joanne sees her next mark. Rick buys her a drink and they head to the dance floor.  Rick soon discovers Joanne is really a Joe and an argument takes place.  The guys decide to wrestle it out and strip down to their posing pouches.  Finally! 

The actual wrestling part was short-lived. The bar had a concrete floor and there were no mats.  Fortunately no one got hurt.  The bros end up on the bar exchanging pleasantries with the bartender and the barback -- including some arm wrestling.

Here's Joe in an arm wrestling match with the uncredited and shirtless bartender.  I think he really was the bartender.  Check out Joe's wrestling arm.  Damn, look at that bicep!  I like that he has a cigarette in his other hand. You can tell he's dedicated to the sport.  BTW, the guy in the striped shirt is Ed Manning.  I can't identity the guy on the right who looks totally nonplussed.  

Joe and Rick have a heated exchange over which one of them has the bigger pouch.  If you check out the wall behind Joe you'll spot a promotion for the AMG film Ben Hurry.  It looks like they were planning to show that film sometime in the near future. 

Ed Manning puts on his sunglasses because his future is so bright.  Or maybe the camera lights were hurting his eyes.

Finally, Rick contemplates his crotch while Joe tells him "See, I told you mine was bigger.  

Jock Night At The Bar

Top photo: the Spencer brothers sit on a the bar while Ed Manning (!) plays bartender in the AMG film Sailor and the B-Girl.  

In the second photo Rick Spencer arm wrestles some guy while Joe Spencer looks on nonchalantly.  Note the photos on the wall in the back. 

Mizer told us this was filmed at a real bar in downtown LA. 

Like A Fine Wine

Ed Manning first came to AMG to do photos and films in 1962 and quickly became a favorite of mine.  This was during the posing pouch era and lasted about three years.  Then he disappeared for a few years.  

He returned around 1971 when AMG had moved onto full "natural" mode and fortunately Mizer did this series of photos shown below.  They leave no doubt that Ed was not stuffing anything down his pouch and he was definitely uncut.  And to answer the question before it is asked: No, he's not one of the infamous Manning brothers.

Popular AMG model Ed Manning by Pat Milo.  This looks like an early photo of Ed. 

You Gotta Get Up In The Morning!

Ed Manning needs help getting out of bed at the AMG complex.  That's Larry Dunn on the left.  I don't recognize the other guy.  Update: I do now. That's Jim Jones. 

Ed and Larry did a couple of AMG movies together, but I think this is more of a candid shot -- maybe slightly staged.  For classic underwear fans, this one is a keeper. 

Handsome Duo

Jim Kessinger (left) and Ed Manning clean up in the AMG shower after their spirited wrestling match.  The two guys were approximately the same size and equally talented on the mats.  The fact they were both handsome lads made it all the better. 

Revolt of the Slaves

The full cast of the epic AMG drama Revolt of the Slaves.  Top photo, from the left: Dale Hall, Larry Dunn, Gary Logan, Joe Spencer and a nicely tanned Ed Manning.  A fun film with five handsome guys.  

Handsome Ed Manning

Ed started posing for AMG in the early 1960s, before the full nudes.  Here he looks a little older than his early film days.  I think he got into some legal trouble and was on forced "vacation" for a few years.  And, like many other AMG models, he returned to the studio when his vacation ended. 

The Exhibitionist (AMG, 1964)

Ed Manning is working out wearing only his posing pouch when nosy neighbor "Madame X" passes by an open window.  The Madame is shocked to see Ed so scantily clad and demands he put on some clothes.  Ed blows her off, so Madame X calls Officer Don Parks to the window.  At first, Don tries to reason with Ed, but soon Don strips down and joins Ed in his workout -- much to the Madame's chagrin.  

Yeah, I know.  Another AMG film with a silly plot and campy acting.  But this one has Ed Manning in it and he looked damn good! 

Madame X was portrayed by Richard Collier who also posed for Pat Milo.
