Wall Patterns (1 of 4)

Recently I learned something from the curator of the Vintage Muscle Men blog.  He told me Bob Mizer found an interesting way to provide a patterned background for the numerous photos he took of his posing models.

Bob took one of his mother's cut glass vases and put a spotlight behind it.  The light passed through the cut glass and created an interesting (but not distracting) dimension to his photos.

Today I'm posting a group of photos where Bob used that technique.  All of these photos are from the very early days of AMG.  One source said they date from around 1949 and 1950.  Unfortunately, I am not at all familiar with the models from that era and cannot provide any names.

Wall Patterns (Part 2 of 4)

The second and third photos are of the same model.  The two large photos are my favorites from this group.

Wall Patterns (Part 3 of 4)

A solo, a duo and a threesome.  The last photo made me smile.  The guy on the right looks lustfully at the middle guy, while the middle guy is ready to tell the guy on the left to get lost.  :-)

Our first photo is AMG model Jim Sweeney.  Thanks Rick!

Wall Patterns (Part 4 of 4)

The last post in this series has some seriously handsome men.  The guy in the second photo with the Liberace-like wavy hair looks vaguely familiar.  I think he did another series posing outdoors.
