Handsome Zaro

The handsome Zaro Rossi (his real name) by Dave Martin.  Although Martin was known for photographing athletes from local colleges and universities, Martin "discovered" Zaro at a gym in San Francisco where the 19 year old man was working as an instructor.  Zaro was photographed by Martin numerous times from 1953 to 1957.  According to one source, Zaro was Martin's most popular model for all of those years.  

The name Zaro is from the Italian name "Lazaro", a form of the Hebrew name "Lazarus" meaning "God is my helper".
