Another casual photo of John Apache at the AMG homestead. John liked fooling around.
A collection of classic male physique photos from the 20th century with an emphasis on the thousands of men who posed for Athletic Model Guild (AMG).

Hans Mueller (The first one.)
Hans Mueller is one of my favorite Nova performers from the late 1970s and early 1980s. OK, he had that distracting mop of hair, but that made him easy to identify when you were looking for Hans in film. Besides, he more than made up for that hair with his generous endowment.
There was another Hans Mueller who did a bunch of gay pornos a decade after this one. We were told he was from Austria.

A Man and His Cigar
As many of you know, Champ (aka AMG model Roy Bergen) is one of my all-time favorite models. There was just something about him that made me want to see more.
Here he is at a session he did with Old Reliable in 1985. All he had was a towel, a bottle of baby oil and a cigar. And that's all he needed. For the next twenty minutes Champ shows us every inch of that body all while stroking that boner and making comments to the camera...and you.
It would be hard to pic a favorite Champ scene, but this one would probably get my vote.
John Apache
The often playful looking John Apache by AMG in the early 1970s. John was clearly a Bob Mizer favorite and there are many casual shots of John hanging out at Mizer's homestead.
Years ago a fellow AMG enthusiast told me this handsome stud was well-known in the West Hollywood area, but John had a wild side that often got him into trouble.
Porn Stars of the Past
The incomparable George Conover shows us his biggest asset in this promo photo for the Nova short film End Play. George is paired with AMG model Clayton "Clay" Hughes who wastes no time getting George out of his jock.
I often confuse this photo for the Nova loop Backfield in Motion where the setting is very similar, but George is wearing blue striped socks. Details are important! :)
Eddie Perez & Tom Pinkard at AMG
Here we see two guys at one of their first sessions for AMG in 1987. Tom Pinkard (left) and Eddie Perez in AMG's video Best Size #8. The guys get (mostly) naked and play with their boners trying to impress each other and the viewers.
This was a nice pairing by AMG. Both guys were approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 130 lbs. Tom was pushing 30 at the time, while Eddie was around 21 years old.
When it came time for the guys to "show hard" both of these uncut guys were quick to rise and enjoyed showing each other the goods.
Both Tom and Eddie stopped by Old Reliable shortly after this session. Tom did only one session there, but Eddie stopped by many times over the next seven or eight years, usually for a wrestling match.
He may have been a lightweight, but Eddie was a contender and often crushed much larger opponents. One of the nice aspects of watching Eddie on the gym mats was he often had that lovely ass pointing toward the clouds. Bonerific!
Some of you might recognize Eddie from his hardcore work for Filmco and a couple of other studios. Eddie proved to be a very versatile performer -- often putting that lovely ass into overdrive. For me, if Eddie was in a scene, he was the one I was watching! A real firecracker!
Chuck & Mike
Chuck McAmish (left) and Mike Brooks pose at the start of one of their AMG films.
Chuck and Mike did at least three AMG films together, although I think only one or two were released. I believe this photo is from one of the unreleased films.

Brothers Randy (left) and Jim Martin by Kris of Chicago. There was a Jim Martin who posed for AMG who looked a lot like the Jim in this photo, but I can't seem to find any photos.

The Busy AMG Shower
Can we ever have too many photos of Shan Daymore's lovely butt? That's Shan on the right with one of his beefier opponents who I don't recognize. Shan did a ton of work at AMG in the early 1960s.
Spike Adams
The handsome and very popular Spike Adams (left) strikes a pose with beefy Bill Morris on the AMG lot in the early 1960s.
According to Mizer, Spike was a versatilehustler model who had a "well-balanced" personality.

Joe Leitel
An early photo of Joe Leitel by AMG. Joe posed for several photographers in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
In the 1980s, when Joe was well into his forties, he did several scenes for Man Hand Films where he played the tough Daddy type who loved smacking young guys butts. I'll post some of those pics in the near future.

Bud Counts by Dave Martin
AMG never published full nudes of Bud Counts (that I know of) but Dave Martin and Bruce of LA both had Bud toss the pouch.
Bruce of LA?

Conflict of Delivery Part 2
A few more photos from the AMG film Conflict on Delivery (aka C.O.D.) released in 1964.

Skeeter Block & Friends
Lou La Venture, Skeeter Block (That ass!) and Jim Lassiter share some good times in the AMG shower. This was probably taken after they filmed Conflict on Delivery (aka C.O.D.) in 1964. Lucky Rand was the cute blond who was also in that film, but he must have used a private shower that day.
Some More Real Brothers
As I've said in a previous post, AMG had several real life brothers who modeled for AMG. Here's a couple more to add to your collection.
Here we have the three Manning brothers in a still from the AMG film Experimental Model. That's Jim on the left and Joe on the right trying to subdue brother John. In a promo for this film, Mizer told us this was one of the rare times the three brothers were out of jail at the same time.

Here's a couple of stills from the AMG film Sailor and the B Girl released in 1962. Rick Spencer plays the sailor and his brother Joe is the "girl". The movie was filmed in a bar somewhere in LA.
The two brothers did many films at AMG, including two of them together. Like the Manning brothers, the Spencer boys were also from Portland, Oregon.
Black Devil Gang
That's Ron Wallace on the far left in a couple of stills from the AMG film Black Devil Gang. I don't think the film was ever released.
Ron did many films for AMG and he was a regular at that studio when it went from posing pouch to full nude films and photos. As you can see, the guys in these photos are not nude and the film was listed in the "posing pouch wrestling" genre. I suspect this title never got released because interest in non-nude models fell drastically once the guys started taking it all off.
AMG In Full Color
A collection of AMG photos of some of my favorite models who posed for that studio in the mid to late 1970s.
Next we have the impressive Buddy Houston, in the mid-1970s. Buddy did a couple of films for AMG, including an outdoor duo session with Tico Patterson. He and Tico "wrestle" on the AMG rooftop. Buddy's muscles looked great in the LA sunshine in that one. If you can find a copy, it's worth a watch.
Lee Kahalewele looks great in this color photo from 1978. He did one posing film for AMG, then he disappeared. Pity.
The cocky looking Rico Le Blanc by AMG, circa 1978. By the mid-1970s, Mizer started photographing and filming young Latino men found on the streets of LA.
Finally, there's Bobby Kropp on the landscaped rooftop at AMG. This posing session was released on film in 1979. Soon after, Bobby did a few hardcore films for Nova as Les Harmon.
If memory serves me right, Bobby was the first AMG model I saw in a gay porn film. The film was His Little Brother where Les was paired with his "brother" Terry. The film was also released in 1979.
And finally there's the tightly muscled and nicely hung Gerald Oglesby photgraphed in 1978. Years ago a reliable source told us this was the model's real name and he was a very popular model with many fans (clients). Unfortunately, like many other AMG models from this period, Gerald had many run-ins with the law and often found himself in the LA country jail.

The Uninvited Guests
A few stills from the classic AMG film The Uninvited Guests. Top photo, from the left: Terry Caldwell, Bob Wilson, Bob Glennon, Mitch Hardin and John Manning.
Terry Caldwell tries to workout with his new apparatus when a number of "guests" arrive to offer advice and criticize his lack of expertise. John Manning plays the TV repairman who is the first to arrive. Then telephone lineman Mitch Hardin, followed by vacuum cleaner salesman Bob Glennon. It was a busy day at the Caldwell home.
Last to arrive is bad lad Bob Wilson who plays a bookseller. He offers to sell Terry an exercise book and show the guys how to get results -- but first they have to strip down. Finally!
The tough looking Bob Wilson did at least a dozen films for AMG. But we were told he had trouble keeping appointments, much to Mizer's chagrin.

The Often Crowded AMG Shower
I always enjoyed the AMG shower photos, especially when two (or more) guys would share the tight space. Usually the guys had just finished wrestling or filming a scene in one of Bob Mizer's films.

First up we have two big guys I don't recognize. If you recognize either of these hunks, drop me a line.
Next we have Ron Wallace (left) and Jerry Sullivan soaping up after filming Young Magician, circa 1965.
Johnny Stumps gets a helping hand from an unknown (to me) model.
Three's company. Four's a party.
A few more unidentified models help each other out in the AMG shower.
And finally, we have James Selig behind John Manning who looks a little apprehensive.

Tell us you favorite in the comments!
