Jim Paris first walked through the front gates of AMG on Valentine's Day, 1964. He had dreams of becoming an actor, but that didn't pan out. After a couple of years of posing for photos and performing in eleven films, Jim joined the US Marines and was sent to Vietnam. He did two tours of duty and returned to civilian life in the early 1970s. Bob Mizer said he almost didn't recognize Jim when he returned to the states.
