David Hurles knew Dan from the old days before there was video and OR sold only photographs. In fact, it was Dan who gave Hurles his first VCR recorder. Lucky Dan "found" the recorder lying on the side of a road in LA. How fortunate for Hurles. He used it to record all of his OR video sessions for several years.
Dan had a surly attitude in his videos for OR, but Hurles gave him the nickname Gentleman Dan. I don't recall if he ever told us why.

ReplyDeleteI think Dan was one of Old Reliables favorites. He started shooting him when he was a baby faced 18 year old and they knew each other the rest of Hurles life. This is Dan in his prime.
