That's Definitely Tabby!
Tabby Anderson looks almost angelic in this photo. He also looks a little younger than his photos for AMG, Bruce and others. I've seen many of his pics over the years, but the photographer of this one has been a mystery to me.
I have a contact sheet that includes this photo with a drawn in posing strap, and my source attributed it to Fred Kovert. Given that Kovert committed suicide about 1948, that would account for Tabby's age being younger than in most of his other pictures. I also have one shot of Tabby attrituted to Ralph Kelly, but the style is quite different.

ReplyDeleteWhat's the deal with cutting off the top of the head? Good Grief it happens so often. The photographer must have been paying attention to something else.
