Hollywood & Physique Pictorial

In case you didn't know, Bob Mizer of AMG photographed a few guys who would go on to become Hollywood stars.  Gary Conway and Arnold Schwarzenegger come to mind.  Here we have Ed Fury on the cover of Physique Pictorial Issue XI, Vol. 4, published in May 1962.

What I find most interesting is Ed's outfit.  Basically it's a swath of fishnet that doesn't quite cover all the goodies -- or at least the pubic hair.  This was in 1962 (!) and Mizer even mentioned Ed's film The Mighty Ursus that was currently playing in theatres!

Make no mistake, though, Ed was no stranger to nude posing sessions.  I intend to do a dedication to this stud in the near future.

  1. I'm really looking forward to your take on Ed Fury's career. I ran a series on him a while back and learned that he continued to get roles on TV well into the 1970s.

  2. The son of a gun is good looking as hell. And built like an action hero.

  3. I think Bob Mizer also photographed actor Dennis Cole, who starred in 1966 TV show 'Felony Squad',then later 'Bracken's World' and 'Bearcats'. He also guest-starred in TV shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Dennis passed away a few years ago.

-Beau Mec a Deauville

  5. Ed Holovchik’s album and catalogue were published in 1951, but Mizer continued adding to the latter, reflecting the name change to Ed Fury. I would date this photo to the mid-1950s.
