Washboard Abs
Another photo of Bob Kappel -- the man with the awesome abs. So far all of the photos I've posted of this guy were from AMG. But Bob also posed for other photographers. I'm on a mission to find and post them.
This is a photo of my father. He wrestled professionally from 1954 until the mid-80s, mostly under his own name. He did enter a number of body building competitions, and I recall him having a number of trophies from them, and some Chicago inter-gym weight lifting trophies as well. I recall one of the body building competitions was called Mr. Man. As Wrestling injuries took their toll he began to supplement his income with a comedy writing and standup, a comedy wrestling act my brother and I did with him for about 9 years, a clown act, and a comedy magic act. He is now retired in Florida, and has a FB page under one of his comedy act pseudonyms, Randy Looney. I do think he still has some photos left from his wrestling and body building days, though I'm not sure if any have been digitized. Thanks for sharing the photo.
Holy mackerel. You could grate cheese on that abdomen!
ReplyDeleteI find these to be very interesting. I looked at mags about fitness when i was a boy. Teens. Loved them. Did not know why I liked them.
ReplyDeleteThey are out there, fully nude & nicely hung if I recall.
