Here we have rare color photographs of four popular AMG models from the mid to late 1960s. I wonder if they were offered in a catalogue of some sort or published in book or magazine form. Or maybe these were from Mizer's personal collection.
From the top: Dennis Lavia, Jim Collette, John Davidson and Johnny Stumps.
P.S. The first thing I noticed about Jim in this photo was the color of his hair. In black and white photos Jim's hair appears much darker.
you have a great site. It is so intriguing to pop in and sometimes see a spread i viewed in a magazine long ago.
ReplyDeleteI applaud the effort you put into this. Thanks.
Thanks for the kudos!
DeleteThey may have mostly been AMG models, but these photos are not by Mizer. I immediately recognized them, the Collette photo in particular (I have several other photos from these various shoots, including the Collette outdoor shoot).
ReplyDeleteI believe ALL these photos were by a studio which went by the name Bobco. These photos here (as well as the ones I have) have all been up on eBay, which is where I found them.
The notable aspect of the Bobco photos, as well as the ones I've collected in black & white, is that they are all square shaped. None of them are rectangular like all the other studios...including AMG...seemed to be.
Also note that background wall behind Collette and Davidson is the same wall, and is certainly not the wall at the AMG compound. The wall behind Lavia is also seemingly not from Mizer's studio/home.
I don't believe that Xmas tree behind Stumps is the "AMG tree" because I compared the carpet he's on with the carpet seen in two other Xmas themed shoots with Stumps, and the carpet above is completely different.
But again...these photos are all by Bobco.
