Sailor Jim - Part 1 of 2

Jim Jones in a shoot for AMG, circa 1963.  This was probably from his first film at that studio promoted as a "posing routine".

Handsome Jim stood nearly 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed around 170 lbs.  He did a few other films for AMG, but I'm not sure all of them were released.  A few years ago I saw Jim in a wrestling match with Ed Manning.  It was poetry in motion.

  1. #3 - the most interesting of the set because he is caught in motion jumping and yet there is no blur - I worked in a photo shop in 1963 and even black and white film didnt have much speed and when they did tended to be grainy - as I remember, Kodak Tri-ax was the fastest black and white - I'm assuming Bob had a large format camera as you could compensate for extra fast shutter speed by using big negative size and extra good lighting - anyhow, technically this is an excellent pic as well as artistic - thanks for the nostalgia trip - I did enjoy my time working with the cameras 1963-1965 and OMG is it all different now with digital lol
