This Post Will Self-Destuct In Five Seconds

Bodybuilder and actor Peter Lupus was the centerfold in the April 1974 issue of Playgirl magazine.  He was one of the first well-known celebrity men to pose fully nude in a mainstream publication.

His claim to fame came in the television series Mission Impossible where he played the role of Willy Armitage.  He was the muscle on that team of government agents who found cool ways to catch the bad guys.  Peter didn't have much dialogue in his scenes and in the fifth season the writers reduced his appearances on the show.  But fans wrote in and complained about the lack of screen time Peter was getting and the producers put him back in the series.  They gave him more dialogue, too.

  1. I remember he usually wore tight black turtlenecks or short sleeve tshirts.

    1. So do I! And he usually had tight pants, too.

  2. Well done to those fans who complained and got him back in the series. Peter Lupus was a very sexy guy with an impressive physique and his Playgirl photos are widely available. I believe that Jerry has also featured him at Vintage Muscle Men, but I cannot find him just now.

  3. My mom and I would watch Mission Impossible every week. I couldn't believe it when she bought this Playgirl. You bet your ass I tore through that magazine staring at his photos memorizing every detail.
