This pic sent me on a search of my files - I have one photo of Gar Nansen in a similar pose likely on this same cloth covered box - the bodies are similar but the hair color and extreme pompadour hairstyle are not similar - I believe you actually have Richard Conrey here. I have several pics apparently from this same session and one of them identifies him as Richard Conrey - I have pics attributed to Lon of New York, color pic by Champion and a set of duals with Jan Gilbert by HEINECKE - one pic from the duals session appears on a mag cover Physique Artistry printed in England 1957 which would put his career squarely in in latter half of 1950s - Jan Gilbert is uncut which makes me wonder if Richard was in the service overseas in England or Germany when this session was done - a Bruce advertisement refers to Richard's younger brother Jim Conrey as having photo sets available - they do look like brothers but Jim has much darker hair - the ad has the address for Bruce as Kensington rd. Los Alamitos but no zip code - offhand I dont remember when zips started - I often wonder what became of these guys and if they had good lives - the Conrey brothers would likely be around 80 by now
I went back and found the site who calls him Gar. But a quick look through Jerry's site produced a photo from this session with the name Richard Conrey.
I'd like to take some time and see if I can find some photos of the brothers. Thanks for you help on this.
