Isn't he Al Agar? I'd hazard a guess that the Pogorzelski proved too much and was changed to a simple Agar (helped by the aliteration as well, I suspect).

ReplyDeleteAh, I see now in one of my photos that yes indeed it's Al Pogorzelski and the name Agar (also seen it spelled Agor) is his 'stage name'.
