The model's body approaches physical perfection as defined by proportion, muscle tone, etc. He's reminiscent of Frank Zane, a body builder popular in the 1970s for training for proportion, and not for steroid-induced size. Superb.
PAUL DIXON was a Sheet Metal Worker who liked Swimming and Water Polo when he posed for Dave Martin on the San Francisco Bay in 1953. That was on the Note Card that Martin made for PAUL. PAUL DIXON was the Rugged American Working Man and I think that Dave Martin recognized that. PAUL was not a first responder, a college athlete or a Body Builder. Yet Dave Martin knew PAUL was a model that was important to photograph. I am so glad he did as His Photos of PAUL DIXON are breathtaking and majestic.!
