Joe Svirbely and Mike Wilson in a few stills from their 1965 AMG film Brother Beatle.
Joe keeps annoying older brother Mike who is trying to study for a big exam. Mike gives Joe a pounding on the mats to teach him a lesson.
I don't understand the title. Was this a reference to the British rock group who was topping the charts in the US at that time? Or was this some type of colloquialism from that era?
JOE SVIRBELY is the Beatle Brother while MIKE WILSON is the Older Brother who needs to study. MIKE has to give his younger Brother a thrashing to get the peace he needs. Since the short film had no sound the title is unfortunate I think. The Viewer must assume JOE was listening to Beatles music far too loudly and was a fan. His older Brother had to teach him a listen and wrestle him.
ReplyDeleteWell Beatlemania was a thing then, now not so much as the 1960s are ancient history. Less than half of all the people that were around in 1965 are still alive today. If Brother Beatle were made to today, little brother Svirbely would be playing rap music, and big brother Wilson would be having his way with his little brother in more ways than one....:)
ReplyDeleteKind of like when I hear Harry Styles. 😝
