Chrysler's forward look started in 1955, but really got going in 1957. With lower, longer bodies, thin rooflines, an exuberance of chrome trim and anodized aluminum, wrap around and over windshields, an extensive palette of colors, finely loomed interior fabrics, space-age dashboards, push button transmissions and optional gadgets galore. Suddenly its 1960 as their ads claimed, for once Chrysler gave Ford and GM a run for their money. :) As for Rock Hudson, at the peak of his film career in 1958, he lived at the edge of a closeted life. In 1962 he was almost swept into a sex scandal at the University of Kentucky, wherein a football coach basically pimped athletes to closeted celebrities visiting on publicity junkets and men of prominence. - Rj
