Ave Atque Vale

Somehow I missed this in the news last week.  A reader contacted me today and informed me Ed Fury (real name, Rupert Edmund Holovchik) passed away on February 24, 2023 at his home in Woodland Hills, CA.  He was 94 years old.

  1. So sad to read of his passing, but assuaged by the fact he lived so long to age 94, a true testament to a well lived and healthy life.
Ed Fury (Rupert Edmund Holovchik) endowed with such a handsome visage and beautiful physique was one of the greats in physique culture. From his early days posing for Bob Mizer in the 1940s (he later posed for Spartan and Bruce of LA among others) to starring as Ursus in Italian peplum films of the early 1960s, he left quite an impression. In his physique photos, Ed Fury seemed to have enjoyed himself posing (he knew he had IT), and the images of him being handsome, young, virile and vigorous will go on for the ages. - Rj
