8. My guess is Russian, circa 1900.
A collection of classic male physique photos from the 20th century with an emphasis on the thousands of men who posed for Athletic Model Guild (AMG).

#4 The surname is Geisler. I hadn't remembered I had two photos (out of a total of 6) that name him and spell it that way.
ReplyDeleteLast photo is a Russian postcard of Jensen by Karpov ca. 1900s.
ReplyDeleteJensen is either a wrestler, strongman or bodybuilder.
From 1890 to 1914 postcards were a big business in Russia, selling from 1 kopek to 5 rubles - 1/2 a cent to $2.50. Back then 5 rubles would be one weeks wage for a laborer in St Petersburg. -rj
