BTW the model is NOT Tony Palo it is Jean Oslo. (The model with Jim Panama is Jean Oslo.) If you look carefully you can see he is not the same man as your other photo of the true Tony Palo on the motorcycle. Palo was 22 when he was photographed one day in May 1984. He was a Hollywood native and wanted to be a model. This photo was from 1979 and could not possibly be Palo. Mizer said Palo was discovered when Mizer and Panama attended the Azusa swap meet in 1984. Jean Oslo did a short Posing film in COLOR for Bob Mizer in 1979. He also modeled under the name of John D. Broadbent for Mizer. Old Reliable said that he did a NOVA film also.
I never realized that these studios/photographers had "recruiters." I just figured they found the models themselves or that the models came to them.

You're right, that's Gene/Jean! I can't believe the book got that wrong, too!
