Norman Moore

I'm reposting this because jimboyfan2 has provided several links in the comments to tell us what happened to Gunnery Sergeant Norman Elijah Moore.  Thank you, jimboyfan2.

recently found this page from Physique Pictorial Vol 31, issued in August, 1978.  Here we can confirm Norman was indeed a marine, and a career one at that.

  1. Thank you for sharing a Real Marine.
Unfortunately, my 7th cousin (through marriages) is no longer with us. He died at age 51. Links:

    1. Jim: Was Norman Moore a Marine Lifer.? One of your sources says that he retired from the Marines in 1977 after serving 20 years. Does 20 years service make you a "Lifer".?

    2. Here's one link that explains the military term "lifer" as formerly being 20 years of service to qualify for a retirement benefit, without specifically saying it applies to a United States Marine.
